Grow And Bloom With Poetry
"Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky."~ Khalil Gibran
Welcome to Gamut Of A Poem
An Applied Poetry Community!
At Gamut Of A Poem , we believe that every person is a living verse in progress. Just as a tree draws life from the water below to reach for the light, we use poetry as our source of nourishment and growth. Join our warm and inviting community where we explore a variety of poetic forms to nourish our roots, grow, bloom and branch out together. Free ongoing virtual sessions are guided by a Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator.
About Me!
I am Cynthia Josephs, a Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator. I am also a retired educator; I taught K-12 students and adults English As A Second Language and Literacy. During the COVID pandemic, I discovered the profound impact poetry can have on one's well-being and decided to become a Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator through the International Federation for Biblio/Poetry Therapy.
Thank you for visiting my site. I invite you to join the group on this poetic journey.
As we embark on this journey together, I would like to share with you this poem by Emily Dickinson.
“Hope Is The Thing With Feathers," by Emily Dickinson
“Hope” is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.
